Step 1 — Set up the grid

A standard board is a 10×10 grid — 100 squares. One team is assigned to the rows (the left axis) and the other to the columns (the top axis); type the names into the two fields above the board. Smaller groups can use the 50-square (10 rows × 5 columns) or 25-square (5×5) boards, where some axis positions cover two digits instead of one.

Step 2 — Claim the squares

Everyone takes turns claiming empty squares and writing their name in them, until the board is full or until you decide to play with the board partially filled. It does not matter which squares people pick — the random number draw in step 4 is what makes every square equally interesting. With the tool, tap a square to type a name, or paste the whole guest list and let the shuffle deal squares in one click.

Step 3 — Lock the board

When every square has a name, press Lock board. A locked board rejects all edits, so picks are frozen exactly as they were made. This step is what lets you prove the game was fair: nothing changed between the moment people picked and the moment the numbers came out.

Step 4 — Draw the numbers

Press Reveal Numbers and each axis gets its own random arrangement of the digits 0-9, uncovered one cell at a time. In the classic paper version you would draw digits from a hat; the tool replaces the hat with a cryptographic random generator that no one — including the organizer — can influence.

On the 25 and 50 square boards, axis positions hold pairs of digits: 0-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9. A square “wins” when the last digit of a score falls anywhere in its pair.

Step 5 — Pick winners each quarter

At the end of each quarter, take each team's score and keep only the last digit. Find the row matching the rows team's digit and the column matching the columns team's digit — the square where they intersect is that quarter's winner. Example: the rows team has 14 and the columns team has 7 — use 4 and 7, and the square at row 4, column 7 wins. Repeat after the second, third and fourth quarters, and again at the final score. Because every digit 0-9 appears exactly once on each axis, every period has exactly one winning square.

The score panel does this automatically: type each quarter's points and the matching square lights up, with a small badge marking which quarters it won.

Prizes are your business

What the winner of each quarter receives is entirely up to your group — many offices play for bragging rights, a trophy, or small prizes the organizer brings. This site provides the board and the random draw; it deliberately has no feature for collecting or dividing money, and it never will.
